The job fair will be held at The Access Center of San Diego, Inc. (1295 University Avenue) in Hillcrest. The Padres are utilizing the input of The Access Center to explore the accommodation needs of applicants with disabilities and to promote the event to the disability community. "Our relationship with The Access Center has heightened our awareness of not only the needs of fans with disabilities, but also the potential of hiring qualified members of this community to fill these positions," said Mark Guglielmo, Director of Stadium Operations. This event comes on the heels of the Presidents Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities job fair, which drew a crowd of over 800 job seekers. In addition, President Clinton recently passed the Work Incentives Improvement Act (WIIA), which will help people with disabilities feel secure in obtaining employment without the worry of losing their benefits. "It is an exciting time for individuals with disabilities seeking employment," stated Bud Sayles, Executive Director of The Access Center of San Diego, Inc. "Recent legislation and cutting-edge employers, like the San Diego Padres, will make a big impact on employment and people with disabilities." Send mail to padams@adaptive.org with
